Wines of Santorini - Tasting + food + wine matching lunch + Sommelier dinner - July 2022

Wines of Santorini were looking to emphasise the special and exquisite nature of their ‘island wines’ to the UK press and trade with a special focus on the on trade.

We proposed a Santorini Showcase tasting followed by a sit-down food and wine matching lunch to show off the food-friendliness of the Assyrtiko grape variety.  We carefully selected a venue that was ‘wine-friendly’ with an excellent gastronomic reputation that would reflect well on the client and endorse the premium nature of the wines.

On what turned out to be the hottest day ever in the UK with a national emergency declared by the UK Government and all travel being advised against we STILL managed to entice 60 key trade and press to attend our event in the wonderfully cool, light and airy, air-conditioned venue!

In the evening we worked with leading Sommelier platform – The Sommelier Collective to create a bespoke event for an exclusive group of London’s top sommeliers.  We had 20 top sommeliers joining us for this event – despite the calamity of the weather!
